About this plugin
Revolution represents a substantive departure from conventional drum machine emulation. Rather than relying on algorithmic synthesis or limited sample libraries, Wave Alchemy has constructed this plugin around tens of thousands of samples capturing the complete sonic character of 14 classic drum machines, including the TR-808, TR-909, TR-606, CR-78, CR-8000, Linndrum, Drumtraks, Drumulator, OB-DX, and SP-12. Each sound was meticulously recorded through professional mastering-grade conversion, with sources balanced through Radial JDI interfaces and preamps by NEVE and API, preserving the full frequency response and dynamic character of the original hardware.
The architecture allows users to assign any of these drum machines to individual voice modules, effectively creating hybrid instruments tailored to specific production needs. This modular approach proves particularly valuable for contemporary producers seeking vintage sonic character without compromising workflow flexibility or computational overhead.

Revolution's primary strength lies in its authentic tonal palette rather than circuit modeling or endless parameter manipulation. The samples capture not only the intended drum sounds but also the subtle analog artifacts and frequency quirks that defined each machine's sonic signature. This makes the plugin exceptionally useful for producers working in genres rooted in classic drum machine aesthetics - from techno and house to hip-hop and industrial music.
The plugin distinguishes itself through sonic fidelity rather than novelty features. For engineers and producers requiring genuine vintage drum machine character without the financial or spatial investment in hardware, Revolution delivers legitimate utility. Its 2017 Best Software Instrument award from Music Tech Magazine reflected genuine recognition within the production community for its approach to authenticity.
