About this plugin
Pluralis stands as a distinctive entry in the delay plugin landscape, distinguished primarily by its multi-band signal splitting architecture rather than conventional time-based processing. The plugin partitions incoming audio across four discrete modes - Mid/Side, Left/Right, Quiet/Loud, and Low/Hi - routing each segment to independent delay processors. This approach enables creative parallel processing arrangements typically unavailable in standard delay units.
The core appeal lies in selective delay application. Mid/Side mode isolates center information from stereo edges, useful for widening mixes or treating vocal artifacts independently from room reflections. The Quiet/Loud crossover mode applies different delay characteristics to dynamic peaks versus sustain, functioning as a dynamics-aware effect that responds to signal amplitude. Left/Right provides straightforward stereo channel separation, while Low/Hi splits the frequency spectrum, allowing bass delays to operate independently from treble reflections.

Complementing these split modes are two conventional delay engines with standard controls for time, feedback, and tonal coloration, ensuring the plugin functions as a capable general-purpose delay when crossover splitting isn't required. This dual nature prevents the specialty architecture from limiting utility on straightforward delay tasks.
The plugin is best suited to sound designers, experimental electronic producers, and mixing engineers seeking unconventional spatial effects. Its strength lies in creating complex, layered soundscapes that resist easy categorization. However, the creative overhead required to exploit its capabilities means it works most effectively in hands-on sound design rather than as a transparent mix utility. For producers comfortable with exploratory processing, Pluralis delivers genuinely novel results.
