About this plugin
FireCobra is a mastering-grade enhancement plugin that combines intelligent audio analysis with analog-inspired processing in a deceptively simple interface. At its core lies the Intensify algorithm, which dynamically shapes spectral balance by identifying and lifting buried elements while controlling frequency ranges that typically dominate mixes. This approach differs from traditional EQ by responding adaptively to the input material rather than applying fixed curves.
The plugin's secondary features reinforce its analog philosophy. The Smack algorithm introduces harmonic distortion modeled after rare saturation devices, adding musicality and presence without obvious coloration. The Analogize circuit simulates classic valve saturation, imparting warmth across the frequency spectrum. Together, these tools create cohesion across individual tracks without requiring extensive parameter adjustment.

The workflow reflects United Plugins' design philosophy: a single Dry/Wet knob handles most enhancement needs, with minimal setup time. This makes FireCobra particularly valuable for mixing engineers working against deadlines or those seeking quick sonic improvement on vocal, drum, and instrument buses. The CPU efficiency from AVX2/AVX512 optimization allows parallel instances across multiple tracks without performance penalties.
FireCobra occupies the space between transparent enhancement and character processing. It's neither a surgical tool nor an extreme coloration device, but rather a pragmatic solution for mix glue and definition. Experienced engineers will recognize its utility as a first-pass enhancement before deeper mixing decisions. The lack of dongle protection and straightforward licensing make adoption frictionless. For those seeking intelligent loudness and cohesion without analytical overhead, it merits serious consideration.
