About this plugin
VOID is UJAM's drum and beat engine purpose-built for drum and bass production, offering comprehensive coverage across the genre's stylistic spectrum from liquid funk to neurofunk brutalism. The plugin ships with ten meticulously designed drum kits containing sixteen individual instruments each, paired with twenty production styles and 460 MIDI loops that span the subgenres effectively. What distinguishes VOID within the Beatmaker ecosystem is its integration with a multi-effects processing layer dubbed Vortex, designed specifically to add character and movement to breakbeats without requiring external processing.
The core workflow leverages UJAM's established browser and mixing architecture. An intelligent search interface tags content by mood, genre, and tempo, enabling rapid kit selection and preview across owned and unowned titles alike. The advanced mixing page grants individual track control encompassing volume, panning, filtering, ambience coloration, saturation, and discrete output routing, making VOID functional as a complete beat production environment within your DAW.

VOID serves producers seeking efficient drum and bass production without the friction of multiple plugin instances or sample library management. The preset-driven approach emphasizes speed and accessibility while maintaining professional audio quality suitable for commercial release. However, experienced producers accustomed to granular synthesis control or extensive drum machine parameter editing may find the abstraction limiting.
As a loyalty upgrade, VOID represents competent value within UJAM's broader Beatmaker 3 platform, positioning itself as a genre-specific tool rather than a universal beat engine. Its strength lies in accelerating the critical early production phase where beat selection determines compositional direction. For drum and bass specialists, it provides a coherent, MPC-like workflow integrated into modern DAW environments.
