About this plugin
The Usynth CORE represents UJAM's definitive synthesis platform, redesigned from the ground up by industry veteran Peter Gorges, whose four decades of synthesizer design inform every sonic decision. This crossgrade option allows existing UJAM users to access what amounts to a comprehensive synth workstation without the premium entry cost.
CORE distinguishes itself through architectural restraint paired with genuine sonic depth. The dual-layer architecture lets you stack and modulate independent sound sources per note, creating complexity without overwhelming workflow. The sequencer system feels native to modern DAW environments rather than tacked on, supporting rhythmic and timbral variations that integrate seamlessly into production templates.

The sound design philosophy prioritizes usability over parameter sprawl. Rather than drowning users in modulation routing options, each preset arrives fully sculpted with the most musically useful modulation already mapped. The delay engine follows this same principle - preset configurations handle 90 percent of mixing scenarios while remaining tweakable for specific contexts. Chord functionality allows single-key harmonic textures, a practical feature for melodic workflows and live performance.
Sonically, CORE occupies cleaner territory than lo-fi synthesis tools but maintains enough character to function as a primary sound source rather than a utility layer. The bass section sits tight and defined, while lead presets demonstrate unusual intelligibility in dense arrangements. Arpeggios and poly patches respond predictably to MIDI velocity and expression data.
For working producers already invested in UJAM's ecosystem, this upgrade provides a legitimate centerpiece synth rather than supplementary texture. It's most valuable for those needing a reliable all-purpose synthesizer without technical barriers to quick results.
