About this plugin
TRIO is a multi-effects plugin that consolidates 15 lofi-oriented processors into a single, always-on signal chain. Rather than employing the typical multi-effects architecture where users select one effect at a time from nested menus, TRIO runs all 15 processors simultaneously across a fixed signal path: bitcrush, wow and flutter, vinyl modeling, warmth saturation, spatial effects, chorus, granular dust synthesis, filter modulation, ping-pong delay, tape saturation, tilt EQ, and bus glue.
The plugin's interface presents three pages - DREAM, GLITCH, and MASTER - which function as different viewing angles on the same immutable processing chain rather than routing alternatives. This fixed signal flow represents a deliberate design philosophy: the developers have already determined an optimal order for these effects, sparing users from decision paralysis while ensuring predictable interaction between stages.

TRIO's technical implementation prioritizes CPU efficiency. Each effect operates as an independent processing node that genuinely disengages from computation when bypassed, rather than mixing to zero while still consuming resources. This approach yields tangible CPU savings, particularly relevant for sessions using multiple instances or running on modest systems.
The plugin targets producers and sound designers working in lofi, beat-making, and experimental electronic music who traditionally stack multiple plugins to achieve dimensional, degraded aesthetics. TRIO's strength lies in its opinionated signal chain and cohesive sonic character rather than maximum flexibility. For engineers seeking granular control over effect ordering or those working outside lofi contexts, traditional multi-effects plugins may prove more suitable. For its intended audience, however, TRIO streamlines workflow while delivering the textural complexity that defines contemporary lofi production.
