About this plugin
TONEX Rig represents IK Multimedia's entry into AI-driven amp and cabinet modeling, leveraging neural network technology to capture the tonal characteristics of classic and contemporary guitar rigs. The plugin processes audio through learned models of amplifier circuits and speaker responses, delivering convincing digital reproductions without relying on traditional convolution or mathematical modeling approaches.
The sonic character tends toward transparency and accuracy across the frequency spectrum, with particular strength in mid-range reproduction and natural harmonic saturation. TONEX Rig functions as both a standalone processor and integrated component within IK's broader ecosystem, allowing users to load pre-captured models or train custom profiles from their own gear.

This tool appeals primarily to recording engineers and producers seeking convenient rig simulation without hardware bulk, as well as musicians exploring tonal possibilities beyond their existing amp collection. Among comparable offerings like Neural DSP plugins and Archetype series tools, TONEX Rig distinguishes itself through accessibility and integration with IK's hardware controllers, though some engineers note the learning curve for effective tone matching versus simply loading presets.
