About this plugin
Thorus represents a meaningful advancement in chorus design, departing from the two or four-voice implementations that define most contemporary modulation plugins. Its eight-voice architecture enables genuine transparency across the entire parameter range, allowing producers to achieve subtle, natural modulation at lower voice counts while accessing dense, immersive textures when needed. This flexibility matters in practical application, particularly when working across diverse material where a single chorus setting rarely suits everything.
The plugin's technical foundation draws from advances made during UVI's development of Sparkverb and Falcon, resulting in a chorus model that maintains clarity even under extreme modulation settings. This is no small achievement, as traditional chorus algorithms often collapse into murk when pushed aggressively. The inclusion of interactive filtering - allowing direct visualization of high-end and low-end adjustments - provides necessary control for protecting mix space without resorting to external EQ.

Standard and Wide modes offer operational flexibility beyond what most chorus tools provide. The Wide mode genuinely expands the stereo image in useful ways rather than simply widening indiscriminately, making it valuable for synth and vocal tracks requiring dimensional enhancement without artificiality.
Thorus appeals to mixing engineers and sound designers seeking a chorus that functions as both a surgical tool and creative instrument. While chorus effects occupy a mature category with competent options readily available, Thorus distinguishes itself through its variable voice architecture and sonic transparency. It won't revolutionize your workflow, but it will likely become your default chorus when precision matters and when subtlety and thickness must coexist in the same tool.
