About this plugin
Super Chorus by Rave Generation delivers five meticulously modeled chorus and modulation circuits spanning four decades of hardware design. The plugin faithfully emulates the warm analog character of Roland's CE-300, the crystalline stereo width of the JP-8000 Super Chorus, the fluid midrange presence of the Alpha Juno 2, plus modern stereo detune and authentic Supersaw algorithms. Each circuit models not just the surface behavior but the underlying signal flow, including period-correct BBD simulation with hardware-accurate frequency response and mode-specific delay times calibrated to the originals.
The technical implementation reflects serious research. Rate mapping follows the original hardware's potentiometer response: logarithmic scaling on the CE-300 and JP-8000, linear on the Juno 2. The plugin integrates the dynamic processing that defined these units - compander circuits on the CE-300 and VCA-style compression on the Juno 2 - reproduction that proves crucial to their distinctive sonic signature rather than cosmetic detail.

The Supersaw implementation uses seven voices with 11th-order polynomial detuning curves and randomized phase per note trigger, approaching the organic complexity that made hoover sounds synonymous with 90s electronic music. Beyond emulation, Rave Generation adds modern utilities: stereo width control, variable mixing ratios, and comprehensive parameter access across all modes.
Super Chorus suits producers and engineers seeking specific vintage textures with production flexibility. Rather than compromising between period accuracy and creative control, it delivers both. For electronic music production, film scoring, and vocal processing, the plugin's technical rigor translates to genuine sonic authenticity that extends beyond nostalgia into practical studio utility.
