About this plugin
Soundtoys 5.5 represents a comprehensive effects ecosystem that consolidates 23 individual processors into a unified platform anchored by the Effect Rack. This collection addresses the fundamental need for high-quality spatial, dynamic, and modulation tools within a single interface, reducing plugin overhead and workflow fragmentation.
The sonic character across the suite skews toward musical saturation and harmonic enhancement rather than clinical processing. Decapitator, Radiator, and Devil-Loc handle saturation duties with distinct coloration profiles, while SuperPlate delivers dense, characterful reverb derived from convolution modeling of classic hardware. The standout addition in version 5.5, SpaceBlender, introduces an experimental spatial processor that layers multiple reverb textures, enabling the creation of complex ambient environments that sit distinctly apart from traditional plate or hall algorithms.

Delay and modulation tools like EchoBoy and PrimalTap provide extensive emulation of vintage hardware, while pitch-based processors including Little AlterBoy and Crystallizer cover vocal transformation and classic chorus effects. The rhythmic modulation suite - PanMan, Tremolator, FilterFreak, and PhaseMistress - all sync to host tempo, making them practical for beat-locked sound design.
Soundtoys 5.5 functions best as an all-in-one effects environment for mixing and production rather than a surgical processing toolkit. The Effect Rack's ability to chain processors seamlessly makes it particularly valuable for complex bus processing and parallel workflows. While individual plugins are available separately, the bundle justifies itself for producers seeking cohesive sonic character across multiple effect categories without the expense of acquiring equivalent tools piecemeal. The 67 new presets provide legitimate starting points for exploring SpaceBlender's capabilities.
