About this plugin
Olympus Choir Micro distills Soundiron's expansive Olympus Symphonic Choir Collection into a focused, production-ready instrument designed for composers and producers who need authentic choral textures without the complexity of a 44GB sample library. Built from recordings of 63 professional singers from San Francisco's premier choral ensembles, this instrument captures the acoustic character of a large concert hall with genuine depth and presence.
The core toolkit is lean but functional. You get dual men's and women's divisi sections with 'Ah' and 'Oo' sustains in both natural and smooth pad modes, plus synchronized polysustains in Latin and Russian. Staccato articulations round out the articulation set. This represents a practical subset of phonetic content, sufficient for most scoring scenarios without overwhelming workflow or CPU allocation.

Soundiron's custom Kontakt interface offers legitimate sonic control beyond simple playback: attack and release shaping, transient offset, dynamic swelling, layer blending, vibrato depth, and legato behavior all respond to user adjustment. The inclusion of 3-band EQ and tempo synchronization addresses real mixing needs. Key range mapping allows for flexible voice distribution across the keyboard.
As an entry point to Olympus, this micro version succeeds in demonstrating the recording quality and scripting sophistication of the full collection. Alternatively, it functions capably as a standalone solution for producers working on modest budgets or systems with limited resources. The sound quality justifies the investment for anyone seeking credible choral presence without specialized knowledge of choral writing or sample library management.
