About this plugin
inDelay represents a significant departure from conventional delay processing, leveraging Sound Particles' established 3D spatial audio engine to create delays that exist as discrete, moveable particles rather than static repeats. This distinction proves consequential: each of the up to 100 simultaneous delay taps can be independently positioned, modulated, and processed across any output format from mono through Dolby Atmos, fundamentally expanding what delay can accomplish in modern production.
The plugin's technical approach centers on three core capabilities. The particle system adds dimensional character through spatial modeling, while air simulation applies frequency-dependent absorption to create distance perception without explicit EQ automation. An intuitive time editor allows real-time reshaping of delay patterns through visual manipulation, making complex rhythmic arrangements accessible without parameter diving. For those seeking experimental territory, the "Craziness" parameter transitions delays into reverb-like textures, while randomization functions provide productive starting points for sound design.

inDelay functions equally well for precision mixing work and immersive soundscape creation. Mix engineers will appreciate granular control over delay placement and movement, while sound designers and spatial audio professionals gain powerful tools for crafting complex, evolving textures. The extensive output format support makes it particularly valuable for Atmos and immersive music projects, where traditional stereo delay tools prove limiting.
Among delay plugins, inDelay occupies a specialized niche focused on spatial complexity rather than character or vintage emulation. This educational version provides full feature access, making it an essential consideration for students and academics exploring advanced delay techniques and immersive audio production workflows.
