About this plugin
Sound Like Dookie captures the explosive drum character of Green Day's 1994 landmark album with impressive sonic authenticity. Developed by Just Add Drums for Slate Trigger 2, this sample library delivers the tight, punchy kick work and articulate snare cuts that defined Tre Cool's playing during that era, while maintaining the clarity necessary for fast, intricate fills.
The collection features 2,496 samples drawn from professional-grade hardware: a Yamaha Absolute Maple kick, Gretsch and Ludwig toms, and a Noble & Cooley snare paired with Sabian cymbals. Each articulation benefits from 4-5 velocity layers and 4 round robins, providing sufficient variation to avoid triggering artifacts during rapid playing. The library includes 24 TCI presets alongside one-shot samples, offering flexibility whether you're layering in a DAW or working within Trigger 2's interface.

Beyond the standard multi-channel approach, the pack delivers both raw and processed TCI files with full microphone channels for kick, snare, and toms, while cymbals arrive as high-quality WAV files for maximum editing freedom. This dual-format approach accommodates different workflow preferences and integration strategies.
The sonic character skews toward punchy attack and defined sustain rather than ambient wash. For producers and engineers working in rock, pop-punk, or alternative contexts, or those specifically seeking that mid-90s alternative rock vernacular, Sound Like Dookie provides an authentic, well-sampled foundation. The comprehensive articulation set - including open and closed hats, multiple crashes, choked cymbals, and rimshots - ensures adequate palette depth for nuanced arrangement work without overwhelming the user with unnecessary variations.
