About this plugin
The Sonnox Essential Collection represents a distilled toolkit of dynamics and EQ processing that has established itself as a professional standard across mixing studios worldwide. This HDX-native version offloads DSP processing to Avid's dedicated hardware, preserving host CPU resources without sonic compromise - the plugin algorithms remain identical to their native counterparts.
At its core sits the Oxford Dynamics, a six-stage processor that consolidates gating, expansion, compression, limiting, and dual-band sidechain filtering into a single interface. The architecture draws from the dynamics section of the legendary Sony OXF-R3 console, delivering precision dynamic control across everything from subtle vocal restraint to aggressive sidechain-driven effects. Three compressor models (Normal, Classic, and Linear) provide tonal flexibility, while optional tube-like saturation adds presence without coloration.

Paired with this is the Oxford EQ, Sonnox's signature equalization platform built on transparent sonic principles that have appeared on countless commercial recordings largely unnoticed - the mark of truly professional tools.
Completing the bundle are the Oxford Reverb, offering spatial processing with genuine musical character, and the SuprEsser, a de-esser that tames sibilance with natural musicality rather than obvious ducking artifacts.
The Essential Collection serves mixing engineers who prioritize sonic transparency and precision over saturated character. Its clean, punchy aesthetic suits contemporary production across genres, from pop and rock to electronic music. For professionals committed to Avid workflows, this represents essential infrastructure for polished, competitive mixes.
