About this plugin
The Sonnox Enhance Plugin Bundle for HDX represents a refined approach to mix enhancement, combining three distinct processors designed to address common loudness and dynamics challenges without resorting to conventional compression. The Oxford Inflator uses a proprietary algorithm to increase perceived loudness while maintaining dynamic range, effectively creating virtual headroom above 0dBFS through harmonic augmentation rather than peak limiting. This characteristic makes it particularly useful for mastering applications or final mix polishing where aggressive compression would prove counterproductive.
The Oxford Transient Modulator operates in a different territory, allowing precise manipulation of attack and decay characteristics independent of overall level. Rather than compressing dynamics, it reshapes the envelope of individual transients, making it exceptionally valuable for rehabilitating poorly recorded drums or adding definition to murky bass recordings. This surgical approach to dynamics management appeals to engineers who need surgical control without tonal coloration.

The Oxford Limiter rounds out the collection as a transparent safety net, preventing digital clipping with minimal audible artifacts. Its fast response and musical character distinguish it from basic brick-wall limiting found in DAW stock plugins.
The bundle's strength lies in its complementary toolset. While individual plugins like FabFilter Pro-L or Waves C6 excel in specific domains, Enhance offers a cohesive workflow for addressing the primary obstacles in modern mixing - apparent loudness, transient definition, and peak management - without the pumping artifacts associated with multiband compression. The HDX variant ensures low-latency performance on Avid systems, making this bundle particularly relevant for mixing facilities still invested in Pro Tools HD infrastructure.
