About this plugin
For mastering engineers and mix specialists accustomed to Weiss hardware, this upgrade collection bridges the gap between standalone gear and DAW-based workflows. Built on decades of collaboration between Softube and Weiss Engineering, these plug-ins translate the sonic signatures of professional mastering equipment into plugin form with uncommon precision.
The bundle consolidates eight essential tools: the Exciter for harmonic enhancement, the DS1-MK3 and DS5 dynamic processors for transparent compression and surgical control, the MM-1 maximizer for loudness management, a dedicated Compressor/Limiter for gain staging, the Deess for sibilance control, the EQ1 for surgical equalization, and the Gambit Series channel strip optimized for Console 1 integration. This represents the core toolkit used in professional mastering suites globally.

What distinguishes Weiss tools is their restraint. Rather than imposing a sonic signature, they excel at transparent gain staging and detailed frequency management. The compression exhibits minimal artifacts, the EQ operates with surgical precision, and the limiting preserves dynamic integrity even under significant gain reduction. These characteristics prove invaluable in mastering contexts where coloration becomes problematic.
This upgrade targets existing Gambit Series users seeking a comprehensive mastering environment without repurchasing redundant tools. For engineers already invested in Console 1 integration, the expansion provides legitimate mastering-grade processing at substantially reduced cost compared to individual purchases. Weiss remains among the few manufacturers whose digital implementations genuinely merit comparison to their hardware counterparts.
