About this plugin
For mastering engineers already invested in Weiss Engineering's DS1-MK3 and DS5 Multiband Compressor, this upgrade delivers substantive value. The Collection 3 expands your toolkit with seven additional processors, each modeled with meticulous attention to Weiss's analog reference equipment.
The bundle consolidates essential mastering functions: surgical compression and limiting via the Compressor/Limiter, precision frequency control through the EQ1, intelligent de-essing with the Deess, and mix maximization via the MM-1. The Exciter adds harmonic character when needed, while the Gambit Series channel strip for Console 1 provides integrated workflow efficiency. These aren't cosmetic renderings of classic gear - they're developed directly with Daniel Weiss and his engineering team, ensuring sonic integrity that extends the legacy of the original hardware.

Where this upgrade matters most is in streamlining your mastering chain within a single ecosystem. Rather than auditioning competing tools, you gain cohesive processing philosophy across compression, EQ, and enhancement functions. The tonal signature remains consistent with Weiss's established standard: transparent, detailed, and revealing of source material rather than imposing character.
This collection targets mastering professionals and serious mixing engineers who've already validated the DS1-MK3 and DS5 in their work. If those processors demonstrated value in your sessions, completing the suite offers logical extension without redundancy. The pricing structure acknowledges your existing investment, making incremental upgrades to a comprehensive mastering platform economically practical.
