About this plugin
Softube's Tube-Tech Complete Collection 2 represents a comprehensive upgrade path for Classic Channel owners seeking access to the full scope of the company's officially licensed Tube-Tech emulations. This bundle consolidates six decades of Danish analog design into plugin form, combining passive tube-driven equalization, multi-band compression, and single-channel dynamics processing.
The collection's foundation rests on the CL 1B Mk II optical compressor, a sonically transparent yet characterful dynamics tool that excels at subtle glue or aggressive pumping depending on source material and settings. The updated Classic Channel Mk II adds layers of tube saturation and compression suitable for bus processing or individual tracks. New to this iteration is the SMC 2B Multiband Compressor, a three-band opto design offering precise frequency-dependent control without the Phase shifts common to digital multiband approaches.

Complementing the dynamics section are the PE 1C and ME 1B Pultec-style equalizers. These passive tube-driven designs deliver the characteristic presence peaks and low-end shaping that defined analog mastering and mixing for decades. The Mk II updates across the collection introduce improved UI graphics and expanded feature sets without compromising sonic integrity.
This bundle is essential for mixing and mastering engineers who value authentic analog character, particularly those working across multiple sources requiring cohesive tonal treatment. The collection's signal processing maintains the midrange clarity and harmonic richness that distinguished original Tube-Tech hardware. For facilities standardizing on Softube's emulation chain, the upgrade path offers genuine sonic continuity from tracking through mastering.
