About this plugin
Tube-Tech Complete Collection 2 represents Softube's most comprehensive offering of officially licensed hardware emulations from the renowned Danish manufacturer. This upgrade path consolidates five essential tools into a single package, anchored by the newly added SMC 2B, a three-band optical multiband compressor that brings surgical control to frequency-dependent dynamic processing.
The collection's foundation rests on the CL 1B Mk II, an optical compressor that has become a studio standard for its musical compression characteristics and ability to glue sources without obvious pumping. The updated Classic Channel Mk II functions less as a traditional channel strip and more as a focused tool for imparting tube warmth and subtle saturation across any source material. Both the PE 1C and ME 1B deliver Pultec-style equalization with the passive, transformer-coupled character that defined 1950s console shaping.

This collection appeals to mixing engineers seeking authentic analog tonal processing without the space or maintenance requirements of hardware racks. The Mk II iterations benefit from enhanced control schemes and high-resolution graphics that reflect Softube's 2018 modernization efforts. Each plugin maintains the sonic signature of its hardware counterpart while integrating seamlessly into contemporary DAW workflows.
For those already invested in Softube's Tube-Tech ecosystem through the Blue Tone purchase, this upgrade path provides immediate access to the SMC 2B multiband capabilities and improvements across existing tools. The Complete Collection 2 serves producers, engineers, and mastering professionals who prioritize transparent, musically satisfying dynamics and tone-shaping over transparent technical precision.
