About this plugin
Softube's Complete Collection 2 assembles the full catalog of officially licensed Tube-Tech emulations, representing some of the most sonically transparent and musically useful analog processor recreations available as plugins. The collection centers on four core units that have earned their place in professional studios worldwide.
The CL 1B Mk II is the optical compressor that anchors most users' workflows. Its smooth, musical compression stems from the inherent lag in opto-electronic circuits, making it exceptionally forgiving on vocals, bass, and drums without the clinical precision of VCA designs. The multiband SMC 2B extends this philosophy across three frequency ranges, allowing surgical control without the transparency loss typical of heavy-handed multiband processing.

The Pultec-style equalizers - the passive PE 1C and ME 1B - deliver the gentle, musical tone-shaping that defined mid-century mixing consoles. Rather than surgical cuts, these units add harmonic richness and presence through transformer coloration and tube saturation. The updated Classic Channel Mk II bundles compression, EQ, and saturation into a single unit, proving genuinely useful as either a channel strip for mix glue or a creative sound-design tool.
These aren't clinical modeling exercises. Each plugin captures the electrical behavior of its hardware counterpart through Softube's proprietary algorithms, meaning they respond organically to varied input levels and program material. The Mk II updates added refined interfaces and expanded feature sets without compromising the sonic character that made the originals essential.
For mixing engineers, mastering specialists, and producers who prize musical processing over transparent accuracy, this collection provides fundamental tools that have proven their worth across decades of professional use.
