About this plugin
Dimensions is Softube's six-algorithm reverb plugin designed to address the practical reality that most productions benefit from having access to multiple reverb characters without resorting to instance stacking. The collection spans mechanical emulations (Spring and Plate), acoustic spaces (Concert Hall and Room), and distinctly colored algorithms (Cathedral and Random Hall), each tuned with enough specificity to serve as a primary reverb choice rather than a compromise.
The Spring and Plate algorithms deliver the expected character - the former capturing the resonant tang of tape-era spring units, the latter offering the dense, warm compression typical of plate reverbs in vocal-centric mixing. The Concert Hall and Room algorithms provide conventional large and small space options, though the Room variant's tighter design prevents it from devolving into washy ambience at moderate decay times. Random Hall distinguishes itself through sophisticated spatial distribution, making it particularly effective for sources that need cohesion without obvious reverb artifacts.

The standout feature is the Shimmer section, which applies pitch-shifted reflections across any algorithm - a genuinely useful addition that transforms traditional reverbs into contemporary shimmer treatments without requiring parallel processing chains. The reverb tail visualizer, while primarily aesthetic, provides practical feedback when dialing in decay character, particularly useful when working without visual mixing references.
Dimensions occupies familiar territory alongside industry standards like Valhalla and FabFilter's reverbs, but its strength lies in offering sufficient algorithmic variety and coherent tuning across a single interface. It's well-suited for mix engineers and producers seeking immediate access to both characterful and neutral reverb options without excessive plugin proliferation.
