About this plugin
Softube's Marshall Cabinet Collection expands Amp Room with eight officially licensed Marshall speaker enclosures, each meticulously captured by producer Daniel Bergstrand at Dugout Productions. The collection represents a significant advantage for engineers seeking authentic Marshall tones within a DAW environment, eliminating the need for external hardware or third-party impulse responses of questionable provenance.
Each cabinet includes six individual microphone perspectives plus six pre-mixed microphone combinations, offering genuine flexibility in tone shaping without requiring deep knowledge of mic placement theory. The recording methodology prioritizes sonic accuracy over novelty, with Bergstrand's production credits ( Behemoth, Meshuggah, In Flames ) suggesting competent capture of aggressive, articulate guitar tones across multiple frequency ranges.

The expansion functions as a pure cabinet module within Amp Room's framework, meaning effective results depend on pairing these impulses with quality amp modeling already in your setup. This modular approach allows integration with any Amp Room amplifier, whether stock or third-party, and supports parallel stacking for custom blending. The professional recording quality justifies the investment for studios lacking physical Marshall cabinets or seeking consistent, repeatable tones without room variables.
Best suited for metal and hard rock producers who rely heavily on Marshall's characteristic midrange aggression and harmonic complexity, though the collection's breadth accommodates vintage blues and classic rock applications equally well. For engineers already invested in Softube's ecosystem or those prioritizing official licensing and documented recording credentials, this represents a practical, sonically transparent alternative to impulse response libraries of uncertain origin.
