About this plugin
KorgBlend stands as a sophisticated chorus plugin engineered specifically for KORG's compact hardware ecosystem. Rather than relying on conventional delay-line modulation, the algorithm employs four independent processing layers per stereo pair, each modulated by parabolic oscillators with staggered phase relationships. This architectural choice yields a fundamentally different sonic character from typical chorus implementations: the pitch detuning emerges with considerable density and natural coherence, avoiding the metallic artifacts common to simpler designs.
The plugin's technical foundation includes 20% feedback paths within each stereo channel and 25% inter-channel crosstalk, both deliberate design choices that reinforce the ensemble effect while maintaining stereo field depth. These feedback structures prevent the characteristic thinning that plagues some multi-voice chorus units, instead cultivating a thick, blended character even at conservative settings. The parameter range proves exceptionally broad, accommodating everything from subtly widened unison textures to densely layered, nearly ring-modulation territory for sound design applications.

Sinevibes' implementation demonstrates meticulous attention to hardware constraints: lag filters eliminate zipper noise during real-time parameter sweeps, while individual parameter mapping accounts for each device's processing ceiling. The tuning appears specifically calibrated to the prologue, minilogue xd, and NTS-1 rather than adapted from a universal template.
KorgBlend suits producers seeking chorus effects beyond standardized presets, particularly those working within Korg's hardware-centric workflows. It performs equally well for conventional ensemble thickening and experimental sound design, making it a versatile addition to any portable synth setup where CPU limitations typically restrict effect complexity.
