About this plugin
Corrosion v2 represents a meaningful refinement of Sinevibes' distortion plugin, warranting consideration for existing v1 users seeking expanded sonic palette and refined control. The plugin's core strength remains its 4x oversampled processing architecture with analog-style anti-aliasing, a technical approach that yields remarkably clean distortion even at extreme settings - a genuine advantage over linear plugins that introduce aliasing artifacts above moderate drive levels.
The upgrade delivers 15 distortion algorithms spanning conventional clippers and folders alongside proprietary curves developed by Sinevibes, addressing the fundamental challenge of digital distortion design: maintaining musicality across a spectrum from subtle saturation to aggressive waveform destruction. The gain structure extends to 24 dB with intuitive tilt control for natural stereo manipulation, a feature of particular value for mix engineers seeking width without phase complications.

Corrosion v2's distinguishing technical capability lies in simultaneous frequency crossover control - users adjust both the upsampling filter cutoff and a steep high-pass filter on the dry signal independently. This flexibility enables sophisticated partial-spectrum processing impossible in competitors' designs, whether reducing harshness on bright sources or isolating low-end aggression. The integrated exponential gate serves dual purposes: practical noise reduction for degraded analog sources and creative audio "chopping" applications.
For producers and engineers accustomed to v1's workflow, the upgrade justifies migration through enhanced algorithmic depth and frequency-specific capabilities. The plugin occupies distinctive territory between simple saturation tools and complex waveshaping platforms, making it particularly suited to mix engineers and electronic producers requiring surgical yet musical distortion control.
