About this plugin
The Electric Neon Deluxe Upgrade transforms the Essentials version into a substantially more capable instrument, doubling the preset count to 240 while introducing finger articulations that add textural nuance absent from the plectrum-only original. For producers already invested in the Essentials library, this upgrade justifies consideration primarily through its articulation expansion rather than sheer preset volume.
The finger articulations deliver organic attack characteristics and decay behavior that distinguish sustained passages from the tighter, more percussive plectrum attack. This distinction matters in layered electronic arrangements where guitar elements need to occupy specific frequency and temporal space without competing for clarity. The articulation system integrates seamlessly within Kontakt 8's framework, allowing real-time switching across both playing styles.

Technically, the instrument models active pickup tones with processing chains specifically calibrated for electronic music contexts. The 30 FX and amp presets emphasize clarity and defined harmonic content rather than classic tube warmth, making the guitar function as a designed element within synth-forward productions rather than a textural afterthought. This approach suits EDM, contemporary pop, and hybridized electronic genres where guitar serves rhythmic and melodic functions within precisely controlled sonic spaces.
The upgrade's value depends on your existing workflow. If you rely heavily on sustained guitar textures or require articulation variety within single patches, the fingered additions provide genuine production benefit. If your patches primarily leverage percussive plectrum work, the preset expansion alone may prove redundant. NKS integration ensures seamless DAW control regardless.
