About this plugin
Scaler EQ approaches equalization from a harmonic perspective, allowing engineers to boost in-key frequencies while cutting out-of-key content within the same band. This dual-mode operation leverages two proprietary filter types - Harmonic Peak and Plus/Minus - that fundamentally alter how traditional EQ workflows function. Rather than surgically targeting specific frequencies, Scaler EQ operates within a musical framework, automatically identifying which partials align with your song's scale and affecting only those components.
The plugin retains all the functionality expected of a modern parametric equalizer: multiple band types, mid-side processing, dynamic compression and expansion capabilities, peak limiting, and stereo enhancement. This ensures Scaler EQ works equally well as a conventional mixing tool or as a harmonically-aware processor. The in-key approach proves particularly valuable during mastering, where broadening stereo width and focusing bass energy can be achieved without introducing tonal artifacts, and in dense mixes where surgical EQ cuts often affect desirable harmonics alongside problematic frequencies.

DJs benefit from real-time key detection when balancing multiple tracks, while producers can use in-key boosting to enhance instrumental tonality without manual frequency identification. Audio editors find the scale-aware filtering effective for cleaning up recordings while preserving natural harmonic content.
Scaler EQ's strength lies not in replacing traditional EQ but in extending it - offering a complementary approach that acknowledges the relationship between equalization and harmonic content. For engineers already familiar with scale-based music production through tools like Scaler, this represents a logical and sonically coherent addition to the workflow.
