About this plugin
Sample Fair's Royal plugin addresses a specific production gap: sculpting the pristine, stripped-back aesthetic that defines contemporary minimal tech house. Rather than offering broad sonic manipulation, Royal focuses on surgical EQ and resonance shaping paired with transparent compression, built explicitly for the genre's demands.
The plugin excels at carving clarity from dense 808s and sub-bass layers without sacrificing weight, a critical consideration when working within minimal tech's narrow frequency bands. Its compression exhibits minimal coloration, essential for preserving the mathematical precision these productions require. The resonance controls allow precise accent of kick attack and hi-hat definition without the artifacts common to traditional parametric approaches.

Where Royal distinguishes itself is in its workflow optimization for iterative tweaking - the interface accommodates rapid parameter changes without CPU overhead, valuable during extended production sessions. The sonic character remains notably neutral; Royal doesn't impose character but rather enables it.
Best suited for producers already fluent in minimal tech's aesthetic, Royal assumes technical competency. It occupies a narrower niche than competitor tools like FabFilter Pro-Q, yet delivers superior results within that specific application. For the targeted workflow, it's genuinely indispensable.
