About this plugin
W. A. Production's PsychoPan is a spatial modulation plugin that applies dynamic panning movements to stereo sources or individual channels. The core function uses LFO-driven automation to sweep audio across the stereo field, with adjustable waveform shapes and sync options tied to host tempo. The plugin distinguishes itself through psychoacoustic principles, shaping not just pan position but also frequency response and perceived width to create the illusion of movement rather than simple left-right automation.
The sonic character tends toward subtle, musical results rather than overt effects. Users can dial in anything from gentle spatial breathing on vocals and instruments to more pronounced rhythmic panning on synths and drums. The modulation responds intelligently to input dynamics, making it equally effective on static sources or time-varying material.
