About this plugin
PSP MicroWarmer is a single-band limiter and tape saturation emulator that strips away the complexity of its larger sibling, the VintageWarmer, without sacrificing sonic quality. The processing engine shares identical algorithms with VintageWarmer's single-band mode, delivering the same transparent limiting and harmonic coloration in a more focused package.
The plugin excels at two primary tasks: transparent level control and the addition of analog character. Its limiter operates with the gentle knee and musical response typical of vintage hardware, while the saturation circuit models tape recorder overload characteristics convincingly. Separate bass and treble shelf filters with fixed corner frequencies allow subtle tonal shaping without requiring full parametric control. Dual metering - both VU and PPM with overload indicators - gives engineers precise feedback on gain reduction and saturation behavior, essential for predictable results across multiple tracks.

MicroWarmer's lowest latency specification among the Warmer family makes it suitable for real-time tracking, though it's equally effective as a mix-stage tool. The 64-bit floating-point processing and support up to 192kHz ensure no computational compromise in the signal chain.
This tool best serves mixing engineers who need efficient per-track density shaping and saturation without menu diving. Its simplified interface compared to multi-band alternatives makes it ideal for rapid workflow on individual tracks or small groups. The comprehensive preset library provides solid starting points while maintaining enough parameter accessibility for customization. For straightforward, characterful limiting with vintage tape warmth, MicroWarmer delivers professional results with minimal fuss.
