About this plugin
Mastering Now represents Producertech's distillation of professional mastering workflow into plugin form, addressing a persistent gap in the market for transparent, surgical loudness optimization. Rather than pursuing the saturated realm of character-driven coloration, this tool prioritizes linear-phase processing and psychoacoustic loudness metering to achieve competitive commercial levels without the typical trade-offs in dynamic range or frequency balance that plague conventional limiters.
The plugin's technical foundation centers on intelligent multiband loudness detection, allowing producers to establish loudness targets while maintaining transparency across the frequency spectrum. This approach proves particularly valuable for hybrid workflows where final mastering chains remain expensive or inaccessible, yet reference levels must meet streaming platform specifications and commercial standards.

What distinguishes Mastering Now from competitors like iZotope's Ozone Dynamics or Waves' L2 is its emphasis on educational feedback rather than black-box processing. The visualization tools and metering give experienced engineers genuine insight into their loudness characteristics, rather than simply applying correction invisibly. This transparency, while demanding greater technical knowledge, rewards producers willing to engage with the underlying principles.
The plugin suits mastering engineers seeking a primary limiter in finishing chains, and producers treating their DAW as a complete mastering facility. Seasoned mixing engineers will appreciate its restraint and surgical precision, though those seeking colorful harmonic enhancement should look elsewhere. Its standing reflects solid engineering fundamentals rather than transformative innovation - a reliable, honest tool rather than a essential purchase.
