About this plugin
The ENGL E765 RT represents a thoughtful alternative within Plugin Alliance's amp modeling catalog, delivering genuine musicality without the aggressive character of its more celebrated counterpart. Built on the same conviction that digital amp simulation should respond authentically to performance dynamics, this plugin captures the nuanced behavior of a classic high-gain amplifier scaled for expressivity.
Sonically, the E765 RT occupies middle ground between vintage warmth and contemporary aggression. The dual-channel architecture with independent gain and volume controls allows for seamless transitions between rhythm and lead textures, while the three-band EQ on each channel provides surgical shaping without forcing dramatic tonal shifts. Where this plugin distinguishes itself is in its responsiveness to input dynamics and guitar volume manipulation. Players accustomed to riding their instrument's volume knob will find the amplifier reacts with proportional sensitivity rather than the binary on-off behavior of less sophisticated modeling.

The inclusion of switchable high-pass and low-pass filters in pre and post-amp positions grants mixing flexibility often overlooked in competing plugins. The vintage lo-fi delay adds character without competing for headspace, while the 64 impulse response recording chains eliminate guesswork in speaker selection and mic placement.
This plugin serves producers and engineers requiring a versatile workhorse for jazz, rock, and metal applications without committing to a single sonic identity. It's particularly valuable for tracking situations where responsiveness to performance nuance matters as much as final tone color. The E765 RT proves that lesser-known doesn't mean lesser-quality in amp modeling.
