Elysia Karacter

The Elysia Karacter is a faithful plugin emulation of the German boutique manufacturer's discrete Class A saturator, developed in close collaboration with Brainworx. It translates the hardware's character into a surprisingly accurate digital model that captures both the subtle coloration and aggressive harmonic manipulation the original is known for.

The plugin ships as two variants: Karacter Mix handles individual tracks with straightforward controls, while Karacter Master provides independent left/right and mid/side processing optimized for full mixes and stems. Both versions offer three distinct saturation algorithms. Saturation mode delivers gentle harmonic enrichment weighted toward odd harmonics, making it particularly effective on acoustic instruments and mastered material. FET Shred mode emulates driven tube amp behavior by boosting even harmonics, lending aggression and presence to electric bass and guitar without losing definition. Turbo Boost operates as a hard clipper, delivering extreme saturation suitable for sound design and aggressive processing.

The Drive control adjusts saturation intensity across any mode, from imperceptible sweetening to radical destruction. The Color knob simultaneously darkens the top end while reinforcing the low-mid saturation character, a feature that proves invaluable for taming harsh upper harmonics while maintaining weight.
