About this plugin
The Chandler GAV19T plugin brings authentic British tube amp character to the DAW through meticulous modeling by Brainworx. Built around the sonic DNA of classic designs like Selmer, Vox, and Marshall, this emulation captures the harmonic richness and breakup characteristics that defined generations of guitar music.
The architecture centers on a flexible preamp section with independent bias control, allowing you to dial in everything from tight, controlled gain to looser, more compressed saturation. The power amp drive section offers surgical tone shaping via a treble boost, full-range boost, and dual mid-range voicings - a refinement beyond the original hardware that grants unprecedented control over the amp's response. Baxandall-style tone controls round out the EQ options with musical, familiar behavior.

The 75 impulse responses, captured across multiple speaker cabinets in a professional studio environment, provide the critical ingredient most amp plugins overlook: authentic speaker character. This moves the sound beyond clinical simulation toward genuine musical utility.
Practically speaking, the plugin excels for DI recording workflows, allowing you to reamp later or lock in tones during tracking. The integrated noise gate, delay, and power soak - absent from the original hardware - add practical studio conveniences. Low-latency operation with proper monitoring setup makes this viable for real-time tracking rather than pure post-processing.
Among British-voiced amp plugins, the GAV19T distinguishes itself through straightforward controls that reward detailed tweaking and IRs that sidestep the generic cabinet problem plaguing many competitors. Best suited for engineers who prize sonic authenticity over preset convenience, this tool justifies its place in serious guitar recording chains.
