About this plugin
Tetrad represents a distinctive approach to algorithmic sound design, combining physical modelling, granular processing, and amplitude modulation into a unified instrument. The plugin's architecture centers on four oscillators that feed a quad bus signal chain, each path threading through AM processing, granulation, and individually tuned plate resonators. This structure yields sculptural, resonant textures that distinguish it from conventional synthesis.
The quad oscillator section offers flexible tuning modes ranging from basic intervals to diatonic inversions, with optional sidechain audio input for external signal processing. The 4x4 matrix mixer provides granular control over signal routing, while the amplitude modulation stage operates effectively into audio rates, enabling both subtle textural shifts and aggressive spectral manipulation. The granulator is particularly powerful, allowing precise control over grain window shape, size, and feedback, effectively transforming sustain material into evolving, particle-like textures.

The four physically modelled plate resonators form the plugin's sonic foundation, delivering the organic, resonant character that distinguishes Tetrad from purely algorithmic tools. These aren't reverb algorithms but rather resonant objects with acoustic behavior, shaped by preamp drive and spatial parameters.
Tetrad is best suited for sound designers, contemporary classical composers, and producers seeking unconventional textures beyond traditional synthesis paradigms. The inclusion of an eight-LFO modulation matrix, envelope following, and comprehensive MPE support enables sophisticated, expressive sound creation. While demanding of CPU resources and requiring some patience to navigate its deep parameter space, Tetrad occupies a rare niche where technical sophistication serves genuine sonic innovation rather than mere complexity.
