About this plugin
Output's Modern String Beds Expansion Pack extends the Analog Strings engine with 100 production-ready presets designed for contemporary scoring and arrangement work. The pack pairs organic string textures with hybrid synthesis, creating atmospheric foundations that balance warmth against digital precision. Where traditional string libraries emphasize classical authenticity, this expansion leans toward beds with textural grit and sonic edge - ideal for film scoring, television composition, and hybrid music production across pop, electronic, and cinematic genres.
The presets combine layered string arrangements with modular synth elements, allowing producers to establish harmonic foundations and chord progressions without extensive manual layering. The integration of synthetic elements prevents the purely organic approach from feeling dated, resulting in timbral character that reads as contemporary without sacrificing melodic expressiveness. This approach proves particularly valuable in post-production workflows where time constraints demand immediate usability while maintaining professional polish.

The expansion pack's technical implementation leverages Kontakt's sampling and synthesis capabilities (requiring version 5.6.6 or later), with NKS compatibility enabling seamless DAW integration and hardware control. The presets function as starting points rather than rigid templates, responding well to modulation and velocity mapping for dynamic performance.
This expansion sits comfortably alongside Native Instruments' string libraries and Spitfire's hybrid offerings, though the emphasis on production-ready beds rather than detailed articulation distinguishes its workflow. For composers and producers seeking immediately deployable string textures with modern sensibilities, the pack delivers substantive sonic character without demanding significant sound design overhead.
