About this plugin
Native Instruments' Session Guitarist - Picked Nylon delivers a meticulously sampled nylon-stringed instrument that addresses a persistent production challenge: authentic acoustic guitar textures without the inconsistencies of real-time performance. The plugin captures a handcrafted instrument across multiple microphone positions, allowing producers to shape the tone from intimate and close-miked to spacious and roomy within a single instance.
The sonic character skews warm and resonant, with the natural frequency response of nylon strings providing a mellow foundation that sits naturally in dense mixes without aggressive EQ work. This makes it particularly valuable for scoring applications, Latin-influenced production, and any context requiring acoustic authenticity without the logistical demands of live recording.

Operationally, the tool functions as both a performance instrument and a pattern-based generator. The 201 pre-recorded patterns offer genuine session musician articulations - picked sequences, strummed figures, and rhythmic variations captured by a professional player. This approach trades real-time expressivity for consistency and professional polish, making it ideal for producers who prioritize groove lock and repeatable takes over performance variation.
The inclusion of professional studio effects, MIDI drag-and-drop functionality, and Native Kontrol Standard support positions this as a workflow-integrated solution rather than a novelty sample library. For composers and producers working with limited guitar resources or seeking the specific tonal palette of nylon strings without extensive processing, Session Guitarist - Picked Nylon represents a legitimate alternative to traditional amp modeling or generic acoustic plugins. Its strength lies in specialized authenticity rather than universal versatility.
