About this plugin
Music Production Suite 9 represents iZotope's most comprehensive creative and technical toolkit to date, offering a strategic upgrade path for existing RX users. This crossgrade bundles 100 plugins spanning restoration, mixing, mastering, and creative processing, making it a pragmatic choice for engineers already invested in the RX ecosystem.
The suite's core strength lies in its integration of purpose-built tools rather than generalist plugins. RX 12 Standard provides the foundation - industry-standard audio restoration with 50+ surgical tools for dialogue cleanup, noise reduction, and spectral editing. Tonal Balance Control 3 elevates the referencing workflow with contextual mixing guidance tied to genre-specific targets and improved metering for dynamics and stereo width. Ozone 12 Advanced, the mastering hub, introduces Bass Control for low-frequency precision, an Unlimiter for transparent ceiling management, and Stem EQ for multitrack mixing within a mastering context.

The suite also incorporates Nectar 4 for vocal processing, Guitar Rig 7 Pro for instrumental sound design, and the newer Catalyst series (FXEQ, Velvet, Aurora, Cascadia, Plasma) alongside third-party plugins from Native Instruments and Brainworx. Plasma, the newest saturation tool, applies intelligent harmonic enhancement based on signal characteristics rather than static processing.
This crossgrade suits mixing and mastering engineers seeking a cohesive, deeply integrated workflow. Rather than collecting disparate tools, you're adopting a manufacturer's complete vision for production. The real advantage emerges when moving between restoration, mixing, and mastering stages - each toolset informed by iZotope's decades of audio science development. For RX Standard or Advanced owners, the upgrade cost is substantially lower than full pricing, making it the practical progression for serious production work.
