About this plugin
MeldaProduction's MRingModulatorMB is a multiband ring modulation plugin that distinguishes itself through flexible architecture and sophisticated oscillator design. Ring modulation remains one of the more unpredictable synthesis techniques in audio processing, and this tool harnesses that instability with precision, allowing users to compartmentalize its effects across frequency ranges rather than applying it wholesale to entire mixes.
The plugin's core strength lies in its dual-interface approach. The streamlined view handles straightforward creative work without overwhelming newcomers, while the advanced mode reveals the full feature set: up to six independently configurable frequency bands with transparent crossover options (analog, linear-phase, and hybrid variants), each with adjustable input gain and metering. The continuously variable oscillator shapes represent the genuinely innovative component here. Rather than being locked to sine or sawtooth approximations, each oscillator draws from MeldaProduction's comprehensive waveform library, envelope system, step-sequencer, and algorithmic processing, providing genuine sonic flexibility beyond typical ring modulators.

The inclusion of four global modulators elevates this beyond static processing. These work as LFOs, envelope followers, ADSR generators, pitch detectors, or hybrid combinations, capable of modulating any parameter including other modulators. This layered modulation approach transforms MRingModulatorMB from a colorization tool into an instrument capable of time-variant, evolving textures.
Support for up to eight-channel surround audio addresses modern production pipelines efficiently. While ring modulation excels on drums and rhythmic elements, the multiband approach makes this plugin practical for more delicate sources. Experienced producers seeking sophisticated, non-destructive modulation effects will find the feature density compelling, though the learning curve steepens considerably in advanced mode.
