About this plugin
MGranularMB represents a genuinely capable approach to granular processing that distinguishes itself through multiband architecture and dual interface design. Rather than treating granular resynthesis as a single-path effect, MeldaProduction has constructed a tool that segments audio into up to six independently configurable frequency bands, each capable of granular manipulation. This permits surgical control over how different spectral regions respond to granular transformation, a meaningful advantage when working with complex material.
The plugin's technical foundation centers on transparent crossover filtering with variable slopes ranging from 12dB/oct to 120dB/oct, plus linear-phase and hybrid options. This flexibility ensures minimal phase artifacts when splitting audio, crucial for maintaining coherence in the final output. The grain processing itself allows pitch shifting, panoramic movement, and harmonic quantization, with the ability to layer up to 20 grains simultaneously for dense, cloud-like textures.

MGranularMB's dual interface structure deserves particular attention. The simplified mode provides immediate access to preset behaviors, while advanced mode exposes comprehensive modulation capabilities, including four fully-featured modulators that can modulate virtually any parameter. This scaling approach makes the plugin accessible to newcomers while remaining genuinely powerful for experienced sound designers.
The tool suits producers working across electronic music, ambient, and experimental domains, particularly those seeking to transform source material beyond conventional granular effects. It performs effectively on both rhythmic and tonal sources, though its multiband architecture is especially valuable when processing mixed or complex sounds where selective band processing proves essential.
