About this plugin
MDynamics represents MeldaProduction's most comprehensive approach to dynamics processing, consolidating compressor, expander, and gate functionality into a single plugin architecture. The plugin's technical foundation centers on an exceptionally detailed envelope follower, featuring multiple attack and release modes, peak hold capabilities, adjustable RMS window lengths, and look-ahead processing. This flexibility allows precise control over how the plugin responds to transient material versus sustained content, making it equally effective on drums, vocals, or broadband sources.
The level follower incorporates psycho-acoustic prefiltering and spectral smoothing, which help the plugin respond more musically to complex audio than straightforward peak or RMS detection alone. The sidechain section extends beyond simple input following, offering integrated filtering options ranging from basic bandpass to a full 6-band parametric equalizer, enabling frequency-conscious dynamics processing. Users can also route external sidechain signals, supporting creative mixing techniques like sidechain compression on drums or vocal ducking from separate stems.

The processing curve itself remains fully customizable, allowing users to draw nonlinear compression shapes rather than relying on fixed ratios. Combined with parallel compression integration and channel linking controls, this supports both transparent, glue-like compression and aggressive, character-driven processing. MDynamics scales across stereo, M/S, and up to 8-channel surround formats.
The interface prioritizes detailed visual feedback through time-domain graphs and metering, helping engineers visualize how dynamics are being applied. While feature density may intimidate newcomers, experienced producers and mixing engineers will find MDynamics' technical depth valuable for precision work across mastering, mixing, and source material processing. It stands among the most capable single-band dynamics tools available.
