About this plugin
The 6060 Ultimate Module Collection Native v7 represents one of the most comprehensive modular processing ecosystems available in plugin form. With over 30 discrete modules covering EQ, compression, saturation, distortion, filtering, expansion, and gating, the 6060 functions less as a single tool and more as a complete mixing console distilled into a single insert. The architecture permits stacking up to six modules in any order, with the critical ability to rearrange them mid-session or split the signal path for parallel processing chains.
McDSP's sonic approach emphasizes transparency without sacrificing character. The compression modules employ both feedback and feedforward topologies, with several offering the uncommon feature of negative compression for frequency-specific dynamic control. The BC-23 module brings English-console aesthetics to threshold-based compression, while custom modules like the Bass Optimized Bias deliver surgical low-end enhancement with over 24dB of available gain. Transformer-based saturation circuits and tape simulation options provide harmonic coloration when needed.

The plugin's compression algorithms have evolved beyond the company's earlier 6050 and 6030 offerings, incorporating improved attack and release characteristics alongside expanded parameter control. This makes the 6060 particularly valuable for sources requiring nuanced dynamic shaping rather than simple level riding.
The Native v7 version suits studios prioritizing CPU efficiency over hardware acceleration. It appeals most to experienced engineers and producers who appreciate modular signal flow, benefit from extensive processing options, and value the flexibility of runtime module swapping. Among comparable tools, the 6060 stands as the more comprehensive alternative to single-function plugins while maintaining professional-grade sonic quality.
