About this plugin
MAAT's thEQblue6 distills decades of analog EQ design into a collection of six carefully architected equalizers, each derived from reverse-engineering respected hardware units. Rather than attempting modeling or emulation - with all the attendant compromises - MAAT has created idealized digital interpretations: the sonic character of analog without its inherent noise, distortion, or unpredictability.
The plugin's technical foundation rests on 80-bit minimum phase processing, ensuring transparent gain adjustments with minimal phase shift artifacts. Each of the six variations represents a distinct tonal philosophy, cherry-picked from MAAT's extensive analysis of classic analog designs. This approach yields something more useful than a single "Swiss Army" EQ: a toolkit where each variant has genuine sonic personality without redundancy.

What sets thEQblue6 apart is its implementation flexibility. Users can assign frequency sections to operate in stereo (left/right) or mid-side (L+R/L-R) configurations simultaneously, a feature rarely available in plugin form. The ability to group sections and apply global gain changes without altering individual relationships proves invaluable for preserving carefully crafted balance during final adjustments.
The inclusion of MAAT's proprietary FiDef technology further emphasizes the plugin's precision focus. This is engineering software designed for mixing and mastering work where transparency matters - where the EQ should enhance your source material without coloration obscuring intent.
thEQblue6 appeals primarily to engineers and producers who've grown impatient with bloated, effects-laden alternatives. It's a professional's tool: authoritative, purposeful, and built on genuine technical expertise rather than marketing positioning.
