About this plugin
LP24 Audio's Afterglow is a reverb plugin engineered around algorithmic decay characteristics that prioritize harmonic sustain over spatial diffusion. Rather than simulating room reflections, the processor extends resonant frequencies through feedback-driven algorithms, creating a shimmering tail that feels less like acoustic space and more like sustained harmonic wash. The plugin's core strength lies in its ability to add depth without obscuring transient detail, making it particularly effective on drums, guitars, and vocal layers where clarity matters.
The sonic character skews toward ambient enhancement rather than dramatic effect processing. Its sweet spot occupies territory between standard convolution reverbs and infinite sustain tools like granular processors. The decay curve exhibits musical, almost organic compression, which prevents the typical metallic brittleness of purely algorithmic approaches.

Afterglow suits electronic producers, ambient composers, and mixing engineers seeking textural enhancement without algorithmic artificiality. It performs competently alongside conventional reverbs in hybrid chains, particularly where you need harmonic enrichment on individual tracks. Among comparable algorithmic reverbs, Afterglow distinguishes itself through focused decay design rather than versatility, trading broad spatial modeling for specific sonic character.
