About this plugin
Volt II is a deeply sampled synthesizer instrument built on Kontakt that delivers richly textured electronic sounds across a broad spectrum from ambient to techno. The library comprises 792 samples across 130 snapshots and 22 multis, organized within a dual-layer architecture that allows users to blend two sound sources simultaneously. This foundational design encourages experimentation without requiring extensive parameter tweaking.
The sonic palette leans toward atmospheric and bass-driven territory. You'll find ethereal pads, evolving string textures, distorted arpeggiators, and characterfully gritty bass sounds alongside more abstract, alien atmospherics. The sound design philosophy emphasizes slow-moving, generative evolution rather than static tones, making Volt II particularly suited for producers who value developing textures over extended passages.

The centerpiece is the Volt Meter macro system, a single intelligent dial that controls multiple assigned parameters simultaneously. This approach streamlines real-time manipulation and works effectively when mapped to a modwheel for live automation during performance or recording.
The engine provides substantial sound-shaping capability through 40 filter types, individual ADSR envelopes for volume and filter, five LFO shapes with depth and sync controls, convolution reverb with ten impulse responses, and effects including distortion, delay, chorus, phaser, and bit crushing. An arpeggiator with 16 pattern modes and an intelligent randomization function round out the toolset.
Volt II functions best as a textural instrument for electronic music production rather than a general-purpose synth. Its strengths lie in hands-on sound design and generative soundscape creation, making it a sensible addition for producers working in ambient, abstract electronica, and techno contexts.
