About this plugin
El Dorado: Legato Bowed Guitar represents a thoughtfully executed sampled instrument that prioritizes musicality across its sample set. Loot Audio has invested considerable effort in capturing the nuanced character of bowed guitar performance, with particular attention paid to legato transitions and sustain articulations. The result is a library that responds naturally to keyboard input without sacrificing the expressive qualities inherent to the source instrument.
The core strength lies in its Master Patch architecture, which permits simultaneous control of pads and melodic elements across different keyboard ranges. This dual-layer approach enables performers to execute complex musical ideas with both hands while maintaining independent control over each layer's character and dynamics. The implementation sidesteps the usual workflow friction associated with juggling multiple instances or patch switching, making it particularly valuable for composers operating under time constraints.

The interface strikes a pragmatic balance between accessibility and granular control. Rather than burying parameters across nested menus, the UI presents a comprehensive set of real-time controls including pad crossfading via motion automation, filter selection with LFO modulation, and integrated effects processing. The ability to switch between manual and automatic crossfading accommodates both scripted compositions and improvisational sessions.
With three dynamic layers and 4.49 GB of sample content, the library covers sufficient tonal ground for contemporary orchestral and cinematic scoring. The pads are voiced to complement rather than dominate, functioning as harmonic underpinning rather than standalone textural elements. This restraint makes the instrument particularly useful within dense arrangements where competing timbral layers demand careful balance.
