About this plugin
Techno Percussion 2 represents Loopmasters' refined approach to rhythmic texture generation within the constraints of plugin architecture. The tool functions as a combined sampler and effects processor, bundling curated percussion loops with granular processing, time-stretching, and modulation capabilities. Rather than positioning itself as a drum machine replacement, it operates more effectively as a creative layer for establishing polyrhythmic density and textural complexity within existing arrangements.
The sonic character leans toward industrial and experimental electronic music, with particular strength in generating evolving hi-hat patterns, filtered kick variations, and pitched percussion elements that sit comfortably in the 5kHz-12kHz frequency range. The plugin's modulation matrix allows for LFO-driven parameter automation, enabling the kind of gradual timbral evolution essential to techno and industrial production. Timestretching implementation is competent without being exceptional - artifacts remain noticeable at extreme ratios, but stay largely inaudible at moderate tempos within typical dance music contexts.

Techno Percussion 2 suits producers working primarily in electronic music genres who value preset exploration and quick arrangement iteration over granular sound design. The included loop library reflects current production aesthetics, though experienced engineers may find themselves reaching for supplementary sample sources for distinctive character. When compared to competitor tools like Native Instruments' Maschine or Ableton Live's Sampler, Techno Percussion 2 occupies middle ground - more specialized than Live's native tools but less comprehensive than hardware-influenced controllers. It functions best as an accompaniment to established workflow rather than a centerpiece production tool.
