About this plugin
Robert Owens - The Voice Of House Music 2 represents a focused collection of vocal processing effects built around the signature sound of house music's most distinctive interpreter. Loopmasters has assembled a toolset that prioritizes warmth, presence, and the particular character that defined Chicago and Detroit vocal house through the 1980s and 90s.
The plugin functions as a comprehensive vocal effects rack rather than a single processor. Its core strength lies in the integration of saturating EQ, harmonic enhancement, and spatial processing designed specifically for soulful vocal delivery. The saturation character exhibits the gentle compression and harmonic coloration associated with vintage outboard gear rather than aggressive digital processing. This is crucial for producers working with contemporary vocals who seek that analogue-derived smoothness without sacrificing clarity or presence.

The spatial components - reverb and delay algorithms - are tuned toward creating depth while maintaining vocal intelligibility, a balance that distinguishes this from generic multi-effects. The preset architecture reflects genuine workflow intelligence, offering starting points that actually function as usable solutions rather than aesthetic experiments.
Best suited for house, nu-soul, and deep electronic producers, this plugin performs particularly well on lead vocals and vocal layers where character matters more than transparency. While competitors like Waves Vocal Rider or FabFilter Pro-C offer broader technical versatility, Owens 2 commits to a specific sonic philosophy. That focused approach means it either aligns perfectly with your production direction or requires supplementary tools. For producers specifically chasing that warm, soulful house vocal aesthetic, however, it's a compelling alternative to layering multiple single-purpose processors.
