About this plugin
Loopcloud DRUM is a sample-based drum creation plugin that bridges the gap between loop manipulation and kit building. Rather than functioning as a traditional drum machine or sampler, it operates as a hybrid instrument designed to accelerate workflow for producers working with pre-recorded material. The plugin provides 16 assignable pads, each capable of hosting any sample from Loopcloud's 1000-sound library or your personal collection. What distinguishes DRUM is its Kit Generator algorithm, which intelligently populates pads with complementary sounds based on selected instrument types, allowing producers to rapidly explore sonic combinations without manual auditioning of every sample.
The technical implementation prioritizes speed and iteration. Individual pads offer adjustable parameters for mixing and sound shaping, while sequencing controls include nudge, timing, and velocity adjustment at each step. This granularity enables fine-tuning of rhythmic feel without leaving the plugin environment. DRUM's history function preserves kit configurations, supporting non-destructive experimentation and iteration across sessions.

The plugin suits producers who want to move quickly from concept to realized groove, whether building entirely original kits or deconstructing loops into component parts. It's particularly valuable for those working with limited personal drum libraries or seeking inspiration beyond their existing sample collections. By integrating Loopmasters' curated library alongside custom samples, DRUM functions as both a composition tool and a sample discovery platform.
While drum plugins and step sequencers are commonplace, DRUM's intelligent generation system and streamlined workflow represent a practical refinement for contemporary music production rather than fundamental innovation. Its effectiveness depends largely on how well its suggestions align with individual sonic preferences.
