About this plugin
StageOne 2 represents a significant refinement in stereo manipulation tools, offering producers and engineers granular control over spatial imaging through five distinct processing algorithms deployed across three frequency bands. The plugin's core strength lies in its WIDTH algorithm, which stretches the stereo field by repositioning off-center content while preserving the phantom center - a technically nuanced approach that avoids the thinness common in aggressive stereo widening. The DEPTH algorithm adds directional reflections that enhance perceived space without requiring convolution, making it computationally efficient for session-heavy workflows.
The MONO SPREAD algorithm addresses a genuine mixing challenge: converting or distributing centered content into stereo space. This proves particularly valuable when working with vocals, drums, or bass sources that benefit from subtle spatial distribution without phase complications. The new PHASE RECOVERY function automatically detects and corrects phase misalignment between channels, preventing the hollow summation artifacts that plague carelessly widened mixes when collapsed to mono - an increasingly critical consideration for streaming and broadcast work.

CENTER GRAVITY provides asymmetrical stereo balancing, useful for corrective work or intentional mix positioning. The three-band architecture allows frequency-dependent processing, enabling engineers to apply aggressive stereo treatment to high frequencies while maintaining center focus in the low end, a workflow detail that distinguishes this from single-band competitors.
StageOne 2 suits mixing engineers seeking precise stereo control, music producers working with mono sources or problematic stereo recordings, and mastering professionals concerned with translation. While specialized tools excel at individual tasks, StageOne 2's integrated approach and phase-aware design justify consideration among essential mixing plugins.
