About this plugin
The EFEKTOR Pitch Bundle consolidates Kuassa's dual approach to pitch manipulation into a comprehensive toolkit. Whammo handles dynamic pitch shifting and bending with a priority on clean signal integrity, addressing a persistent gap in software pitch effects where artifacts and stepped quantization typically compromise natural tone. The engine maintains attack definition while executing smooth pitch sweeps across a broad range, with native MIDI control enabling hands-free modulation. Chord handling exhibits the characteristic shimmer and flutter associated with parallel pitch-shifting on polyphonic sources, producing effects comparable to hardware pedal units without the typical latency penalties of software emulation.
Harmonitron approaches pitch from a harmonization standpoint, layering pitched copies beneath or around the original signal to create thickness and density. The swell feature - a slow attack envelope applied to pitch-shifted voices - generates the synthetic, organ-like textures historically favored by progressive and alternative artists. Both tools share meticulous attention to preserving transient definition and tonal character across their operating ranges.

The bundle addresses distinct production needs with sufficient overlap to justify both inclusions. Whammo serves guitarists and bass players seeking expressive pitch manipulation with real-time control, while Harmonitron benefits vocalists, synth programmers, and anyone pursuing textural augmentation through harmonic stacking. The combination represents the current standard in software pitch manipulation, delivering results that match dedicated hardware units while retaining the workflow advantages of plugin architecture. Engineers accustomed to compromised pitch shifting will recognize immediately the technical achievement these tools represent.
